After The Rains

It rained all the way through Christmas here in Southern California and it rained all the way through New Year. It was so wet that it felt like we were going to be washed away like Noah and his Ark! In fact it rained so much that after 25 years of drought California has now officially been pronounced drought free! But the glorious upside of all this rain has been an absolute explosion of flowers in the garden: daisies, lilies, geraniums, gerberas, even the normally subdued aloes joined the party with their exuberant display of brilliant orange blooms! It truly was glorious and what a joy it was to paint!
