Dusk In The Garden

Dusk was falling in the garden and the sky was putting on a show for us when I sketched this painting. It's a smaller version of my Champagne Garden and I was captivated anew by the composition, but it was the colours in this scene which absolutely blew me away; the vibrant red canna lilies and the orange gerberas; the yellow daisies and the undulating purple foothills, all ranged beneath mountains set ablaze in the setting sun. It truly was mesmerising and what a joy it was to paint!
