Enchanted Oasis

This is a sister painting to my Desert Oasis and features a similar corner of a beloved little botanical garden in Carpinteria. What drew me to this particular scene was its striking composition: the two giant aloe trees rising up like each side of a window to frame the glorious tapestry of trees and flowers in the centre and the stunning contrasts of colour and form bursting out like fireworks all over the canvas; the majestic sundrenched mountains towering in the background and the way the sky seemed to swirl as if echoing the curling canopy of aloe leaves sat high atop the entire blazing landscape. It truly was magnificent and what an absolute joy it was to paint!
