Foothill Vines 2

This is a sister painting to the original Foothill Vines and continues my absolute fascination with this spellbinding little scene which G and I first encountered by chance while driving around the foothills of Carpinteria. I adore absolutely everything about it, from the rows of gnarled old vines carpeted with yellow and purple wildflowers, to the charming cluster of trees sat like a little village in the centre, to the magnificent sunkissed mountains towering above it all. It truly is glorious and what a joy to paint!
