Marigolds In The Morning

Every morning G and I run with our two Goldens Marley and Sunshine on the bluffs high above the ocean which is where we were fortunate enough to come across this breathtaking scene. The low angled light cast such dramatic shadows on the towering mountains, and the leaves on the giant trees were burnished with autumn's reds and yellows, but it was the marigolds in the foreground which stole the show and had me racing down the hill towards them. When I got there I hopped the fence for a closer look and as I stood there lost in wonder I felt for all the world that I was immersed in an iridescent sea of orange. It truly was glorious and what a joy it was to paint!
