Mutti_s Birthday Flowers

My Mum (Mutti) and Dad live in Spain and we don't always get the chance to celebrate birthdays with them which unfortunately was the case this year. Instead G and I sent a lovely bouquet of flowers which Mum was absolutely delighted with. She immediately sent some photos of the flowers which hadn't been arranged yet and were still vase-less in their original packaging and I knew I just had to paint them. I searched the internet for an appropriate vase to put them in and came across this exquisite Fratelli Toso from Murano. I just loved its shape and wondrous design and the way the beautiful flowers burst forth from the vase in a riot of colour. What a joy to paint!
