Summertime On The Bluffs

This is a painting of the Carpinteria Bluffs, a breathtaking stretch of California coastline sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez mountains, and is a place very close to my heart. G and I were walking our dogs there the other day when we came upon this extraordinary scene. Colour seemed to be everywhere, from the gold-flecked clouds in the blue sky, to the sunkissed pink mountains, to the yellow and purple wildflowers stretching out as far as the eye could see. It truly was glorious and what a joy it was to paint!
