Thanksgiving Gerberas

This is one of a handful of paintings I've done of gerberas. It began with A Gift of Gerberas which was painted at the beginning of the lockdown. The local growers, finding their markets closed due to the pandemic, chose to give away their wonderful flowers rather than leave them to rot in the fields. It was a lovely gesture, deeply appreciated by the community, and for a while in that dark covid landscape it seemed as if every house and apartment had a bright burst of these stunning blooms in their windows. I had such fun painting them that I carried on with other gerbera paintings and this is the latest in that growing line. These particular gerberas were a gift from G at Thanksgiving, hence the name, and they were an absolute joy to paint!
