The Barn (The Road To Ojai 5)

This charming little structure first caught my eye as G and I headed out along the road to Ojai one sunny day in June. It was so perfectly placed beneath the blue sky, the mountains rising up so majestically behind it, the joyous sea of wildflowers spread out like a carpet at its feet, that I knew I had to paint it. It's the fifth painting in my Road to Ojai series and while I was painting it G would jokingly refer to it as the barn. Funnily enough, it isn't an actual barn but simply a white tarp thrown over a series of metal hoops they use to grow crops under, but somehow barn stuck as a title and so The Barn it became! It truly was irresistible and what a joy it was to paint!
