The Chicken Shack

This is a painting of one of our favourite restaurants in Santa Monica, Cha Cha Chicken. Apart from the amazing Caribbean food I just love the eclectic facade with its vivid blue banner ranged against a backdrop of bright orange, the charmingly dishevelled array of colourful pots, the plants and flowers gaily stacked on top of one another in the sunshine. The arresting contrast of colours and shapes made it an absolute joy to paint!
