The Magic Jungle

This painting was inspired in part by the extraordinary bottle-shaped tree on the right with its eye-catching branches and arresting tribal markings on the trunk. Contrasts were everywhere, from the cascading reds of the flowers on the left, to the ranks of jagged greens ranged joyously either side of the jungle path, to the dance of lovely pinks beneath the bottle tree. There truly was a magical exuberance to the scene and what a joy it was to paint!
