The Nursery

G and I were driving around the foothills of Carpinteria one sunny day when we came across this remarkable garden nursery. The name of the nursery was B+G Color and it couldn't have been more appropriate because colour was everywhere! Oranges, yellows, purples, pinks and reds, great banks of colour stretched out like a priceless carpet beneath the magnificent mountains. We returned next day with a canvas and standing there under the clear blue sky as I began to sketch this painting I truly felt as if I was immersed in paradise. I hope my painting gives you some sense of the wonder I felt at being there. What a joy to paint!
