The Pink Path

There is a little botanical garden just south of Santa Barbara which has featured in many of my paintings and is a source of endless fascination for me. The other day I was wandering around with G in search of inspiration when we came upon this arresting scene. It was an absolute riot of colour with flowers everywhere, great banks of them piled joyously up on top of one another as they went marching up towards a sky which, I was thrilled to discover, had taken on the delightful pink tones of the path. It truly was glorious and what a joy it was to paint!
