The Sunshine Flowers

It was a beautiful sunny day when G and I headed out to a little botanical garden in Carpinteria called Seaside Gardens. It's a magical place of ever-changing beauty and has featured in many of my paintings. On this particular day we were wandering contentedly around the gardens when we came across this incredible scene; the stunning sea of flowers seemed to be everywhere, blazes of oranges and yellows, pinks and purples, with the path running like a river through it all. In the brilliant sunshine it was a veritable riot of colour and it felt like we had walked into a wonderland. What a joy to paint!
