Wild Flowers In The Meadow

This is the third in a series of four paintings I've done of the botanical gardens in Santa Barbara, a magical place of endless inspiration to me. This one was painted at the height of the California wildflower superbloom in spring when it seemed like every field and hillside in the entire state was bursting with glorious blooms, none more so than the meadow of this little botanical garden perched high above the city with the Pacific Ocean at its feet. What a joy it was to paint!
